Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth attended their first event together since getting engaged. On Wednesday, Miley, 19, accompanied her fiancé, 22, to the Australians in Film Breakthrough Awards.

According to Us Weekly, Cyrus, who is known to have a sexier style now that she’s getting older, wore a tight black mini-dress with cutouts, designed by an Australian designer. She paired it with platform heels, a long body chain, and her 3.5-carat diamond engagement ring by Neil Lane.

Cyrus described her look as “simple.”

“I just wanted to wear something simple because tonight is all about [Liam] . . . I’m super stoked for him,” she said. “He’s really happy and it’s great!”

According to The New York Daily News, Liam Hemsworth was honored at the awards. The Hunger Games actor was named one of the breakthrough actors of the year. He was recognized for his contributions to the film and entertainment industry.

His hard work was not only recognized by the Australians in film Awards, but also his soon-to-be wife.

“I like when men work hard, I think it’s important,” said Cyrus. “I always work really hard so it’s good to have someone who is as passionate about what they do and wants to be great at what they do instead of just being OK. We always strive to have our 130%.”

As it was a night to recognize Liam’s achievements in film, the couple, who announced their engagement earlier this month, didn’t speak about the engagement or weeding plans too much.

“We’re very, very excited, very happy!” Hemsworth simply said.
