In a world connected by Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, Miley Cyrus stars as a teen girl navigating through the peer pressures of high school romance and friendship, while dodging her protective mother (Demi Moore), in Lionsgate and Mandate Pictures fresh coming-of-age comedy LOL.

For reasons unknown, the film doesn’t have any promotional events. This means that fans need to work even harder to promote the film! The movie has a limited release in the US which means it’s not going to be in every theater – we need to get the film to do well enough for it to be released worldwide! Miley fans need to come together to spread the word about LOL to everyone that we can – including Demi Moore fans, Ashley Green fans and Douglas Booth fans.

          » Step 1 – Share the video on Facebook or Twitter
Social networking sites are one of the easiest and best ways to spread the word about something! The more people tweet or update about the movie, the more people will see it and the more people will know about it. Tweet or share about the trailer every day and get it more views!

          » Step 2 - Change your profile picture, background or Facebook banner
Another way to promote the movie using social networking is through your profile’s design! For example, a Twitter icon, a Twitter background or a Facebook banner is a great way to promote the movie. We’ve made some icons, backgrounds and banners for you to use!

          » Step 3 - Contact your local cinema
Find out where LOL will be showing near you! Contact your local cinema and ask them if they’ll be showing the film. If not – request it! Try and get it showing in as many theaters as possible!

          » Step 4 - Hand out flyers or posters in your city
Another way to promote the film is to tell people directly. Print out the poster or flyers for the film and hand them out to the public in your town, city centre or even your school!           » Step 5 - Trending topics
Trending topics on Twitter spread the word about things fast. So far, we’ve had quite a few trending topics for the movie! An example of one trending topic was #LOLMovieWorldwide. If we can do trending topics for the movie almost every day, it’ll spread the word so much better to everyone on Twitter, not just in the Miley fanbase!

          » Step 6 - Links with trending topics
If something trended for the movie, we should all tweet the hashtag or phrase – along with the link to the official trailer. If people took a look at the trending topic, they would find a lot of tweets filled with the link, so more people would find out about it!

          » Step 7 - Articles on big blogs or websites
Big blogs and websites are a great way to get the word round about something. If all of Mileys fans came together to a website and requested that they update about the movie or the official trailer, a lot of people will see it – outside of Twitter too. Perez Hilton and Just Jared have already updated about the trailer – let’s get more sites to be talking about it!

          » Step 8 - Request TV talk shows
We could ask talk shows, for example Ellen Degeneres, Jay Leno or Jimmy Kimmel, to have Miley on the show or to talk about the movie. If enough fans requested for either one, I’m sure one of the hosts will listen to us! If Lionsgate won’t promote the movie on TV then it’s a great start!

          » Step 9 veryone loves to listen to the radio! Spreading the word about the movie by asking your local or biggest stations to give the movie a shoutout is an awesome idea. Erica from Z100 already gave Miley and LOL a shoutout – an awesome start because Z100 is one of the biggest radio stations in America! If everyone can ring up and request them to give the movie a shoutout, it’ll definitely help.

On the 1st June, Miley fans are meeting up in Manchester to go and see LOL together! But at the same time, they’ll be fundraising for one of Miley’s charities by walking 5k to the cinema! Check out the project here and join in!

          » MEXICAN FANS - Mexico street team promotion!
Fans in Mexico are coming together to promote LOL too! The fans will all go and see the movie on the first day it’s released in their states (13th July). Before the release, they’re planning street promotion in each of their states (they have 31 states!) to help more people find out about the film. Once they’re done, they’ll be putting together a video for you all to see! Check out their project here.

          » BRAZILIAN FANS - Join MCyrus.com and MileyBrazil.com’s project!
A flashmob is going to get together in Brazil of Miley’s fans in the theater to watch LOL. They need your help for the film to be a success in Brazil! The idea is to get as much material as possible and make a special page for each city that are taking part in the action. Find out more from their project here!
